Slippage tolerance is the maximum price deviation you’re willing to accept on a trade. Adjusting this setting helps you find a balance between successful execution and protecting yourself from unfavorable price swings.

Default and auto slippage

By default, Slingshot sets your slippage to AUTO:

  • EVM-Compatible Networks (e.g., Ethereum, Arbitrum, etc.): AUTO defaults to 3%.

  • Solana: AUTO uses an Auto Slippage feature that estimates the best tolerance for your trade.

You can override this automatic setting any time if you prefer a custom tolerance.

Changing slippage tolerance

  1. Open the Swap Screen: Navigate to the Swap interface.

  2. Access Slippage Settings: Tap the AUTO ⚙️ icon at the top right.

  3. Choose Your Preference: Enter a custom slippage percentage. Lower slippage reduces price risk but can cause failed trades if markets move rapidly. Higher slippage ensures higher execution success but risks a worse price.
