Limit orders on Slingshot let you specify the exact price at which you want to buy or sell a token. Instead of executing immediately at the current market price, your limit order will execute only when the token's price reaches your specified limit.
Placing a Limit Order
To place a limit order:
Select the token you want to trade. Select Buy or Sell
On the next screen, tap on the top where it says "Market Buy XXX". Choose Limit Order instead of the regular Market Order
Enter the amount of USDC you want to spend
Enter your limit price. For reference. You will see the current market price at the bottom left
Review and confirm your limit order.
What Happens Next?
After placing a limit order, it remains open and visible in your order history until:
The token's market price reaches your specified limit price, executing your trade.
You manually cancel your order.
Canceling Limit Orders
You can cancel open limit orders at any time from the Orders section in the home screen, or within a token's page. Tap on Manage Orders, and there you will be able to cancel it.
Important Considerations
Limit orders depend on market liquidity. If there's not enough liquidity at your chosen price, your order might not fully execute.
Limit orders remain active until executed or canceled by you.
