Initial Account Setup

Once you secure a Flex closed beta invite code, sign up for a new Flex account using your email address and a password. Make sure your login information is stored safely and securely.

You will be prompted to create and confirm a 6-digit PIN for additional security. Make sure you securely store and remember your pin.

After funding your non-custodial wallet, you will be prompted to save a 6-word backup phrase. Please keep your backup phrase in a safe place. Slingshot cannot help you recover it.

You will also receive an email containing a link to verify your email address. This confirms your ownership of the email. In the event you need account recovery assistance or other support, Slingshot may contact you via email.

Account Security

Flex Accounts are non-custodial. You always maintain full custody and control over your Flex account and funds, through your username, password, pin, and backup phrase.

Private keys are securely encrypted at all times in a multi-party computation (MPC) model, and only you have the ability to decrypt them.

None of Slingshot, our MPC provider, or any other third party can ever have the ability to decrypt or even momentarily access private keys. This means it is impossible for Slingshot or our MPC provider to use your private keys, access your wallet, withdraw, or otherwise access your funds.

Account Recovery

To reset your password or PIN, go to the profile section (click on your avatar in the top right corner). Note that your account must be backed up in order to reset your PIN. Your password can also be reset by requesting a password reset email at login.

You will have 3 chances to enter a correct PIN, after which you will be locked out for a minute before being able to try again. Your backup phrase will allow you to set a new pin.

In the event you lose access to your Flex account, the backup phrase will allow you to recover your encrypted private key and all assets in your Flex account.
