Swapping on Slingshot is one-click and executes instantly. Never again worry about network switching, gas balances, or bridging. One-click swaps execute seamlessly, no matter what chain(s) your tokens are on. Swapping cross-chain has never been this easy.

How to swap tokens

Once you have funded your Slingshot account:

  • Search for the token you would like to swap, by name or contract address (CA).

  • Choose the quote token you’d like to swap against (currently USDC only).

  • Choose Buy or Sell.

  • Enter the desired quantity.

  • Confirm the rate.

  • Pull to place the trade!

Quotes (“Est. receive” amount) are net of gas and swap fees, which are deducted from the quote token.

How swapping works

When you initiate a swap on Slingshot, the platform searches across various decentralized exchanges and networks to find the most optimal price. This ensures users get the best execution while minimizing slippage and transaction costs. Because Slingshot is fully decentralized, all swaps are executed on-chain, meaning users maintain full custody of their funds at all times.

Price impact and slippage

Price impact refers to how much a large trade can move the market price of a token. To help mitigate this, Slingshot sources liquidity from multiple DEXes. Additionally, users can adjust their slippage tolerance to control how much price variation they are willing to accept when executing a trade. If the market price moves beyond your selected slippage tolerance, the transaction will fail to prevent an unfavorable trade.

To enter a custom slippage tolerance, click on AUTO ⚙️ at the top right of the swap screen. By default, the slippage is set to 3%.

Gas fees

Swaps on Slingshot require network gas fees, which vary based on blockchain congestion. These fees are paid directly to the network, not to Slingshot. The estimated fees are displayed before confirming a swap. Slingshot automatically optimizes transactions to minimize unnecessary costs whenever possible.

Viewing your swap history

To review past swaps, scroll to the bottom of the home screen and tap "See All History." Here, you can view all your previous swaps, deposits, and withdrawals for better tracking and portfolio management.
